Cookie Policy
Last Updated: April 9, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Renta Labs LLC (“Renta”) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our platform at getrenta.io and all associated tenant storefronts (the “Platform”). Renta Labs corporate pages are hosted separately at rentalabs.io. This Cookie Policy applies to the Platform unless we provide a supplemental notice elsewhere. This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They may be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by external services). They may be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (remain until expiry or deletion).
2. How We Use Cookies
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. No consent is required.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-access-token | Authentication — maintains your logged-in session | Session |
| sb-refresh-token | Authentication — refreshes your session securely | Persistent |
| Tenant context | Identifies which tenant storefront you are viewing | Session |
| CSRF token | Cross-site request forgery protection | Session |
| Cookie consent | Stores your cookie consent choices (non-U.S. visitors only) | 12 months |
2.2 Analytics Cookies
We may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the Platform. These cookies do not identify you personally and are used only for aggregate, anonymized reporting.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics — distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics — maintains session state | 2 years |
For EU/EEA/UK/AU visitors: analytics cookies are loaded only after you give consent via the cookie banner. For U.S. visitors: analytics cookies may be loaded by default; you can opt out via browser settings (see Section 6) or by enabling Global Privacy Control.
2.3 Marketing / Advertising Cookies
Renta itself does not use marketing, advertising, retargeting, or social media tracking cookies for its own purposes. We do not serve ads, participate in ad networks, or allow third-party ad trackers on the Platform on our own behalf.
A rental operator may configure their own analytics or tag management tool (such as Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager) on their storefront, which can in turn load marketing or advertising cookies of the operator's choosing. Where an operator does this, the operator — not Renta — controls what is loaded and is responsible for disclosing it. These tags are subject to the same consent gate described in Section 3. If Renta's own use of cookies changes in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent where required.
3. Cookie Consent
3.1 When Consent Is Required
Strictly necessary cookies (authentication, payment processing, security) do not require consent under any jurisdiction. These are loaded automatically because the Platform cannot function without them.
Analytics cookies require opt-in consent in certain jurisdictions. This applies both to any analytics Renta itself runs and to any analytics or tag management tool (such as Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager) an operator has enabled on their own storefront. Our approach by region:
| Region | Approach |
|---|---|
| EU / EEA / UK | Opt-in consent banner shown — analytics cookies and tags, including operator-configured ones, load only after you accept |
| Australia | Opt-in consent banner shown (best practice) |
| United States | Opt-out consent banner shown — analytics may load by default; you can decline in the banner, through browser settings, or via a GPC signal |
| Everywhere else | Opt-out consent banner shown, the same as the United States. If we cannot determine your location, we apply the stricter opt-in approach instead |
3.2 Managing Your Preferences
All visitors who see a banner: whether it asked you to opt in or offered you the chance to opt out, you can change your mind at any time by clicking “Cookie Preferences”. Choosing to decline later switches the analytics off from that point on, exactly as if you had declined at the start.
All visitors: You can control cookies through your browser settings (see Section 6) or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser.
4. Third-Party Cookies
| Third Party | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing, fraud detection | stripe.com/privacy |
| Supabase | Authentication and session management | supabase.com/privacy |
5. Other Tracking Technologies
- Local Storage — used by Supabase Auth to store session tokens
- Server Logs — automatically recorded access logs, retained for 90 days
6. How to Control Cookies via Browser Settings
- Chrome: support.google.com
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Safari: support.apple.com
- Edge: support.microsoft.com
Impact of blocking cookies: Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Platform from functioning. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect functionality. Blocking all third-party cookies may interfere with Stripe payment processing.
7. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as a valid opt-out request per CCPA §1798.135(e).
8. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will reset your consent preferences so you can make an informed choice.
