Sales Representative - Commission Only (1099 Contractor)

About Renta

Renta is rental management software. Powersports, marine, RV, bike, ski, and surf rental businesses run their whole operation on it — online bookings, fleet management, pricing, deposits, waivers, digital signatures, payments, and their customer-facing website. We're a small company and I'm the founder. I also own a dirt bike and UTV rental business that runs on Renta, so I know the customer because I am one.

The role

You'll cold-call and cold-email small rental businesses, book a demo call with me, and earn commission on every one that signs up. I handle the demo and the close. You find them and get them on my calendar.

What you earn

Commission on every customer you bring in, paid every month that customer stays with us:

• Month 1: 75% of what that customer pays Renta
• Month 2: 50%
• Month 3: 25%
• Month 4 onward: 10%, for as long as you're active with us

That last line is the point. Every account you sign keeps paying you every month. Sign steadily for a year and you're earning on all of them at once, not just the one you closed this week. There's no cap.

Plus $25 for every qualified appointment you book — meaning the prospect shows up, they're the decision-maker, and the meeting actually happens. That pays whether or not they end up signing.

How this works day to day

This is an independent contractor position. You set your own hours and nobody's checking whether you worked today. I'll give you a suggested script and talking points, but how you actually work is up to you, and you're free to work with other companies at the same time.

One requirement: book at least one qualified appointment per week to stay active. Hit that and the rest is entirely yours to run. Miss it consistently and we'll part ways — that's the only standard there is.

Who this is for

• You've done cold outreach before and you're not scared of the phone
• You want income tied to what you produce, not hours logged
• You're self-directed — there's no manager here, and there won't be one
• Experience selling software or to small business owners is a plus, not a requirement

Who this isn't for

If you need a guaranteed paycheck, set hours, or someone structuring your day, this isn't it and I'd rather say so up front. There's no base salary. As a contractor you're responsible for your own taxes.

Location

Remote, anywhere in the US except California, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.
