Renta — Commission plan
$1,500
2.5% per booking, renter-paid — no monthly fee
Renters cover this at checkout — you keep the full booking total.
Renta — Flat plan
$1,500
$300/mo × 5 months, 0% commission
Paid by you, not your renters — this is your entire cost.
FareHarbor's fee is renter-paid, the same as Renta's Commission plan — so that's the fair, apples-to-apples comparison: renters would pay $3,000–$4,800 on FareHarbor versus $1,500 on Renta's Commission plan, over the season. If you'd rather your renters see no Renta fee at all, the Flat plan removes it entirely for $1,500 for the season — but that comes out of your own pocket, not theirs.
Between Renta's own two plans for your numbers: Commission comes to $1,500 and Flat comes to $1,500 for the season. They come out about the same for this season. As a rule of thumb, Flat tends to win above roughly $12,000/month in bookings, and Commission tends to win below it — a lower-volume shop can genuinely be cheaper on 2.5% than on $300 flat.
